Georgia Virtual Learning

Georgia Virtual Learning shared resources program offers quality educational content available for anyone as open educational resources. designated courses contain Open Educational Resources and teacher created material. All content is aligned to the Georgia Performance Standards and Common Core where applicable.

Georgia Virtual School

Georgia Virtual School (GaVS) offers online learning options to public school students, private school, and home school students. Virtual courses serve a wide array of student learning styles through interactive and engaging learning content that is designed for best practice and flexibility. GaVS is a program of the Georgia Department of Education's Office of Curriculum and Instruction. The program is SACS CASI accredited and operates in partnership with schools and parents to offer middle school and high school level courses across the state. Georgia Virtual School provides a teacher led, virtual classroom environment. GaVS has over 100 course offerings in the core content areas, world languages, CTAE, electives, and a vast AP course selection. Your student’s options and opportunities are not limited by the school district in which you live or the school they attend.

Georgia Credit Recovery

The Georgia Credit Recovery Program is an opportunity for a student to retake a course in which he/she previously was not academically successful in earning credit towards graduation. Credit Recovery courses are designed to be on a flexible schedule and are not facilitated by a teacher. Options allow students who have completed seat time and calendar requirements to earn credit based on competency of the content standards. Courses are complete, aligned to state standards, and students will demonstrate mastery before receiving a grade. The Credit Recovery program offers core courses and limited electives required for graduation from a Georgia public high school. While the program is provided free to participating Georgia public high school students for all first time enrollments, the local school will incur a fee for re-enrollments, which may, in turn, be passed on to students. The Georgia Credit Recovery Program is now available to Georgia private high school students for a fee.
